Temple and Street

About a week ago I was in a meeting learning how one organization is doing ministry in an urban area of the city.

These were important topics since I am working toward the launch of a new church that is not quite suburban yet not fully urban.

In this discussion the idea of “temple” vs “street” worship was discussed.

Temple is the Sunday morning 1-2 hour event.

Street is the “reasonable service” offered on a daily basis to individuals and families day in and day out.

Without the street worship – temple can become merely a show.

How are we taking temple to the street?

For church plants this street worship must be the priority to drive an authentic temple experience.

What do you think?
