Sticky Faith

Were the whole realm of nature mine,
That were a present far too small;
Love so amazing, so divine,
Demands my soul, my life, my all.

It has been a full week since the Christian world celebrated Good Friday and entered into one of the most sacred and meaningful weekends of the Christian calendar.

Many who are deeply committed to their faith find their passion confirmed during those days.  sticky faith

Some who are marginally committed listened to the sermons, heard the music, or attended special events and determined to be “more faithful” — “more committed”.  Much like New Year’s resolutions on December 31st.

There are even those who have little or no faith in Jesus who found themselves seriously considering the claims of this man Jesus.  Moved by the Easter experiences they may have even made an initial commitment to faith.

But now — a full week of life and work, busyness and demanding schedules, hurts and setbacks later…..

Well — you know.   It is sort of like mid-January.  The Resolve has washed out the Resolutions.

The Commit has leaked from the Commitment.

The Fully Committed has slipped back to the Mighty Renewal is once again the Marginally Received.

So — how are you doing this morning?   Where is God finding you a week after……?
